JSW Cement Commissions 1 MTPA Grinding Unit In Odisha’ Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar: JSW Cement, part of diversified USD 23-billion JSW Group, has commissioned a state- of-the-art cement grinding unit of one million tonne capacity at Sambalpur in Odisha.

With this, the company’s total installed capacity has gone up to 21.6 MTPA.

The unit has been commissioned by its subsidiary, Shiva Cement, through a commercial arrangement with Bhushan Power and Steel.

The unit, strategically location near Odisha–Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand, taps into rising demand amid eastern India’s infrastructure and industrial boom while maintaining one of the lowest CO₂ footprints.

JSW Cement, in a statement, said that the grinding unit aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen its footprint in eastern India, but did not divulge its investment details. “The eastern region of the country is poised for exponential growth in the coming years. Odisha is playing a key role in the industrial and economic growth in the region. This new facility is a strategic initiative to consolidate our position in this market,” said CEO, JSW Cement, Nilesh Narwekar.
