Bhubaneswar: JSW Steel’s Jajang Mines and Paradeep Phosphates Limited (PPL) were awarded Kalinga Safety Award-2021 in different categories for safety practices in their operation.
Associate vice-president, mines Akhilesh Kumar and safety head Basant Sahu of Jajang Mines received the Kalinga Safety Award (Gold) from Assembly Speaker Surya Narayan Patra at the National Safety Conclave in the city on Wednesday. Ranjan Nayak, Chief Operating Officer, JSW Odisha operations, congratulated the team.
Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Toufique Hasan was present at the event.
Ranjit Singh Chugh, chief operating officer and Nihar Kanti Rout, joint general manager (Fire & Safety) of PPL received the Kalinga Safety Excellence Award (Platinum) in chemical and fertilizer category from the Speaker. Besides, Sachitra Kumar Rout, manager (Fire & Safety) was conferred the ‘Best Safety Officer’ of the state award.
Kalinga Safety Award, considered one of the prestigious awards in the country, is given in recognition of exceptional contributions made by organisations in different categories.
