Barbil (Odisha): JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division has bagged five awards at the 27th Mines Environment and Mineral Conservation (ME&MC) Week 2025-26, organised under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines in Bhubaneswar.
Narayanposhi Iron & Manganese Ore Mines secured first prize in Environment Monitoring and was ranked th
ird in Sustainable Development and overall performance in Group A.
Nuagaon Iron Ore Mines earned second prize in Waste Dump Management, while Gonua Iron Ore Mines secured third prize in Scientific Development, reflecting the division’s consistent performance across domains.
Dikshit Kumar Das of JSW Steel was conferred the prestigious ‘Mineral Conservation Bandhu’ Award in the Executive category for his contribution to mineral conservation initiatives.
Prasanna Panda, Business Head, and Ram Shankar Sharma, Operations & Projects Head, received the awards along with their teams.
The ME&MC flag was handed over to Panda, signifying that JSW Steel’s Odisha Mining Division will host the 28th ME&MC Week 2026-27.
