Paradip: In order to promote awareness among people about COVID, JSW on Wednesday launched a ‘Corona Sachetanata Rath’ (corona awareness vehicle) in the town.
The vehicle would move around the Port Town and its nearby areas of Jagatsinghpur district announcing the precautions against getting infected by coronavirus, precautionary guidelines announced by the government and availing the two doses of vaccines.
It was flagged off by chief of Pradip Port Trust Hospital Dr Prahllad Panda. Senior officials of JSW and chief of Biju Memorial Hospital at Atharbanki Dr Basant Kumar Rout were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the land acquisition process for the steel plant of JSW in Dhinkia Naugaon and Gadakujang panchayats has reached the final stage. As many as 714 betel vines located in the project site have been destroyed and compensation has been paid to 665 beneficiaries so far.
Similarly, out of around 70,000 trees in the project area, 20,500 trees have been identified and more than 8,000 of those counted on the premises of the people of Govindpur village.
After payment of compensation as fixed by the Horticulture department of the government to the owners of these trees, the identification and counting of trees in forest areas would be taken up.
At the same time, a distance of 6.24 km out of total 15-km boundary wall has been marked in Dhinkia panchayat. The pre-cast wall of more than one km has already been completed, according to a JSW release.
