Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the passing away of Jhingia Oram, wife of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, late on Saturday.
According to sources, she breathed her last at 10.50 pm while undergoing treatment for dengue at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. She was 58. Jual is also suffering from dengue and is under treatment.
“My wife tested positive for dengue in Bhubaneswar on August 10. I got infected in Delhi and tested positive on August 11. Though my condition improved, the platelet count of my wife dropped to 60,000 and she could not recover even after platelet transfusion. My wife was shouldering a big responsibility for which I was able to discharge my duties as a politician,” Jual told the media.
The CM along with Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Speaker Surama Padhi and other BJP leaders visited Jual’s residence at Lumbini Vihar in Bhubaneswar and paid their last respects to the departed soul late last night.
Majhi described Jhingia as a pious, soft-spoken person, who immersed herself in social and charitable works. He further stated that she had played an important role in Jual’s long political journey.
Her mortal remains were later taken to Kendudihi village in Sundargarh district, where her list rite rituals will be conducted.
