Keonjhar: Two persons, including a woman, were killed in elephant attacks at two separate villages in Keonjhar district.
The deceased persons have been identified as Jaga Mallick (52) of Nuarugudi village and Sanjulata Rout (52) of Kanpur village.
According to sources, the incident took place when Jaga and his son were returning home on Friday night. The elephant attacked him, following which, he was critically injured. He died on the way to the hospital.
Majulata died on the spot when an elephant attacked her while she was on her way to a mango orchard near Salandi river.
On being informed, police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
