Nuapada: A herd of elephants strayed into Pendaraban village in Komna Tehsil of Nuapada district on Tuesday, following which power supply to the area was shut down to ensure their safety.
According to sources, near about 28 pachyderms have been spotted near Pendaraban village. The Electricity Department took this step to avoid any harm to the pachyderms. The power supply will be restored once the elephants leave the human settlement, the sources added.
