Jumbo kills woman, destroys house in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: In a tragic incident, a woman was trampled to death by an elephant at Kankadasoda village under Mahabirod forest range in Dhenkanal district on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Uma Gadnayak.
According to reports, Uma was attacked in the backyard of her house as she tried to run away from the marauding elephant. She was rescued by her family members in a critical condition and rushed to Mandapala hospital in Talcher, where doctors declared her dead.
On being informed about the incident, police and forest officials reached the spot and started investigation into the incident.
The elephant also destroyed her house.
