Bhubaneswar: The Vigilance sleuths on Sunday apprehended a junior assistant posted at Sub-Divisional Veterinary Office, Birmaharajpur, in Odisha’s Sonepur, Golak Bihari Podha, while allegedly accepting Rs 15,000 bribe from a live stock inspector.
According to sources, Podha took Rs 20,000 from the complainant and demanded another 15,000 to release his salary. An FIR was lodged and trap was laid to nab him thereafter. The entire bribe money was recovered from him.
While a case has been registered by Sambalpur Vigilance in this connection, simultaneous searches are on at two locations linked to Podha from disproportionate assets angle.
