Bhubaneswar: A Junior Assistant working in Bhuban BEO was caught red-handed by Odisha Vigilance while taking a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a teacher on Wednesday.
The Junior Assistant, Bidhu Prasad Behera, had allegedly demanded the money to sanction the teacher’s pending RCM bill. The bribe money has been seized from Behera’s possession and investigation is on.
Behera’s house at Barada in Gondia block and office room at Bhuban in Dhenkanal district are being searched.
A case has been registered. Details are awaited.
