Bhubaneswar: A Junior Engineer was apprehended by Odisha’s anti-corruption Vigilance wing for allegedly accepting Rs 10,000 bribe from a Gramsathi to hand over certain documents on works done under MGNREGS in Maneswar Block of Sambalpur district.
The accused, identified as Pranati Sahu, allegedly took Rs 10,000 from a the Gramasathi) to hand over measurement books and all connected documents in respect of road works executed by him under MGNREG scheme, a Vigilance release said.
The entire bribe amount has been recovered from exclusive possession of the accused Sahu and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of the JE in Angul and Sambalpur districts.
In this connection, a case has been registered and investigation is in progress.
