Baripada: A Junior Engineer (JE) of Rural Development Department died after being attacked by a swarm of bees in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Bishwanath Murmu, a native of Tulasi Chaura area under Baripada municipality. He was posted as a JE at Rairangpur Rural Development Construction in Tiring block.
According to sources, the incident took place around 9 am as he left his official quarters at Rairangpur and was on his way to his office at Tiring. He fell on the ground and started vomiting after being stung by the bees. Some locals rushed him to Rairangpur sub-divisional hospital but he succumbed during treatment.
