Khurda: A junior engineer allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his rented house in Odisha’s Khurda district on Sunday.
As per reports, 53-year-old Tapan Kumar Nayak, belonging to Malipada in the district, was posted in Banpur block two years back. He was staying in a rented house with his family at Paltan Padia in Banpur.
His wife, who had gone out on some work, returned to the house in the afternoon and knocked on the main door. As Nayak did not open the door nor there was any response from inside the house, his wife informed her neighbours.
Later, they broke open the main door of the house and found Nayak hanging from the ceiling of his room.
On being informed, a team of Banpur police station led by IIC Ramesh Chandra Debata went to the house and sent the body for post-mortem. They have registered a case of unnatural death and started investigation.
