Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Amandeep Lakra scored a brace in India’s thumping 10-1 win over Canada in their final Pool C match of the FIH Men’s Junior World Cup meet in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday.
The 21-year-old defender found the target off a penalty corner in the 23rd minute, and added to India’s tally in the final quarter (51st minute).
Aditya Arjun Lalage (8th and 43rd) and Rohit (12th, 55th) also netted a brace each, while Vishnukant (42nd), Rajinder (43rd), Kushwaha Sourabh Anand (51st) and Uttam Singh (58th) scored one piece.
India finished second in Pool C with 7 points, beating Korea and Canada while losing to toppers Spain.
India thus set up a quarterfinal clash with Pool winners The Netherlands on December 12.
