Bhawanipatna: Protests over Mamita Meher murder case are intensifying with the Congress once again opposed the visit of another minister. Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera faced the ire of Congress during his visit to Thuamul Rampur in the district on Wednesday.
According to reports, the Minister was on his way to Dumerpadar village under Thuamul Rampur police limits to distribute Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart cards when congress activists hurled eggs at his vehicle at T Rampur.
They also showed black flags to the Minister besides raising slogans against CM Naveen Patnaik demanding the removal and arrest of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his close proximity to Gobinda Sahu, the prime accused in the Kalahandi school teacher murder case.
The protesting Congress members were taken into custody by the police and adequate bandobast has been made to maintain law and order in view of the Minister’s visit.
