Puri: Justice Jaswant Singh of Orissa High Court visited Jagannath Temple in Odisha’s Puri on Sunday.
Justice Singh, accompanied by his family and relatives, arrived in the Pilgrim Town in the morning and went to the temple amid tight security. The servitors of the temple took him inside the temple where he had darshan of the sibling deities and offered puja.
The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of Justice Singh as Chief Justice of Orissa High Court after holding a meeting on September 28. He is currently posted as a Judge of the High Court.
Born on February 23, 1961 in Rohtak, Justice Jaswant Singh had taken oath as High Court Judge on October 8, 2021. Singh has been elevated as Chief Justice after incumbent Chief Justice S Muralidhar was transferred as the Chief Justice of Madras High Court.
