Bhubaneswar: Justice Sanjaya Kumar Mishra took oath as seniormost judge of Uttarakhand High Court on Monday.
Justice Mishra was transferred from Orissa High Court to Uttarakhand HC on the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium recently.
He was elevated as Judge of the Orissa High Court on October 7, 2009.
Born on December 29, 1961, in Balangir, Justice Mishra completed LLB from Law Faculty, Delhi University, in 1987.
In 1988, he started practising in Balangir District Courts under the guidance of his father, Markanda Mishra. He was also an Honorary Law Lecturer at Balangir Law College.
Justice Mishra secured the first position in the Recruitment Examination for District Judges from Bar and joined as Additional District & Sessions Judge, Jeypore, on February 16, 1999.
He also as District & Sessions Judge, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Special Judge (CBI), Bhubaneswar and joined as Registrar General of Orissa High Court.
