New Delhi: Coming out in support of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Swami Avimukteshwarananda of Jyotir Math has said that the Congress MP had mentioned that Hinduism rejects violence.

Earlier, a controversy was triggered when Rahul Gandhi had accused the BJP of indulging in communal politics and diving people on communal lines while speaking in Parliament.

Attacking Rahul Gandhi’s claims in Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said that the Congress leader dubbed ‘entire Hindu community as violent.’

“We listened attentively to Rahul Gandhi’s entire speech. He unequivocally emphasises that Hinduism rejects violence,” the Shankaracharya said in a video that went viral on social media.

In the video, the seer was responding to a question raised by a reporter at an event.

Rahul Gandhi had earlier attacked the BJP by alleging that neither the saffron party nor PM Narendra Modi represented the entire Hindu Community.
