New Delhi: K-drama heartthrob South Korean actor Song Jae Rim died on Tuesday. He was 39 years old. The actor was seen in a few shows, including the 2012 drama “The Moon Embracing the Sun.” He shared the screen with Kim Soo-hyun in the K-drama. As per reports, he was found dead in Seoul. The cause of death is still unknown.
According to Soompi, Song Jae Rim was found dead in an apartment in Seoul’s Seongdong district. A police investigation is underway. A ‘two-page letter’ was allegedly found at the scene. Meanwhile, it is reported that the actor’s funeral will take place on November 14.
As per Xportsnews, his family has organised a memorial space at the Yeouido St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Hall. His younger sister has been named as the chief mourner.
Song Jae Rim made his debut in the 2009 film, Actresses. However, he shot to fame after starring in ‘The Moon Embracing the Sun,’ in which he played the role of the loyal bodyguard, Lord Kim Jae-woon, one of the supporting characters of the show.
After the success of the series, he bagged a few more shows. These include Two Weeks (2013), in which he played the role of a cold-blooded assassin. He was also seen in shows like Unkind Ladies (2015), Secret Mother (2018), I Wanna Hear Your Song (2019), Café Minamdang (2022) and more recently, My Military Valentine (2024). This year, he was also seen in Queen Woo. He was also popular courtesy of his participation in We Got Married Season 4. He shared the screen with Kim So-eun.
He had two projects in the pipeline. These include I’ll Become Rich and Death Business.
