Bhubaneswar:‘Saradiya Bandhu Milana’, an informal gathering of senior writers, poets, dramatists, singers and social activists, was organised at KISS Jagannath temple campus here on Thursday.
While unveiling the special issues of popular Odia magazine ‘Kadambini’ and ‘Kunikatha’, KIIT & KISS founder Dr Achyuta Samanta congratulated the team and editor Iti Samanta. “The journey so far would not have been possible without the consistent effort of my sister Iti and all the writers, who have contributed to strengthen the literary standard, he said.
The editor said since drama and plays are an extended part of literature, they decided make this issue a drama special.
When senior actor-dramatist Ajit Das proposed to host a drama week every year, Samanta gave his consent in no time.
Among others, eminent litterateurs Bibhuti Patnaik, Pratibha Satpathy, Aswini Mishra, Baishanab Samal, Niladri Bhusan Harichandan, Ajit Das, Haren Sahoo, Abhinna Routray and Subodh Patnaik graced the occasion. Ollywood actress Jhilik Bhattacharjee, who featured on the cover page of the special issue, also attended the event.
The programme ended with the guests enjoying Prasad prepared at the temple.
