Bhubaneswar: One more COVID-19 patient in Odisha has recovered from the infection and tested negative for the deadly virus.
The Health and Family Welfare Department in a tweet on Sunday informed that one of the patients from Kalahandi district, undergoing treatment at Ashwini COVID Hospital in Cuttack, has been fully cured.
With this, 13 persons, who had contracted the infection, have recovered or discharged in Odisha, which has so far reported 54 confirmed COVID-19 cases. Among those who have recovered, seven are from Bhubaneswar, two from Bhadrak and one each from Cuttack, Jajpur, Puri and Kalahandi.
On April 4, a 29-year-old man of Kalahandi district had tested positive for COVID-19. He was asymptomatic and had travelled to Bahrain. The tweet, in all probability, refers to him.
Five days later, a contact of his also tested positive for the virus. The 20-year-old, a resident of Golamunda, had come in contact with the Baharin-returned positive case on April 4. He was shifted to institutional quarantine on April 5. He was asymptomatic and his samples were collected during routine surveillance. The results received on April 9 showed that he had contracted the infection.
Both of them were admitted to COVID hospital in Cuttack.
