Cuttack: Saroja Panda set the DRIEMS ground on fire on Monday, smashing a big hundred to help Nuapada thrash Malkangiri by 197 runs in a Silver Group clash of the OCA inter-district meet for the Kalahandi Cup.
Panda smashed 157 off 82 balls, hitting 13 fours and 14 sixes, as Nuapada scored 265. Malkangiri were skittled out for 68 in 19.4 overs, with Gourab Rout bagging 6/18.
Lalu Mohanty also captured half a dozen wickets (6/20) to set up Puri’s 8-wicket win over Deogarh.
In the day’s closest game, Rayagada pipped Sonepur by 2 runs.
Balangir beat Kalahandi by 5 wickets, Paradip overcame Kandhamal by 14 runs and Kendrapara got the better of Gajapati by 10 runs.
