Cuttack: The Kali Puja in Cuttack city will be organised in strict adherence to COVID-19 guidelines, informed Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh on Monday.
“Eleven temporary ponds will be created in various parts of the city for immersion ceremony,” he said.
The DCP further said that 15 platoons of police force and 50 officers will be deployed in the city for maintaining law and order.
Following a ban on bursting of crackers, special drives would be conducted during Diwali to check any violation of the order. “City denizens are being sensitized about the ban. Patrolling would be conducted during the evening,” he added.
The DCP requested all to celebrate Kali Puja and Diwali at their homes and avoid any kind of social gatherings.
He had earlier told the media that the idol of Goddess Kali will be four feet as per the directive of the Orissa High Court.
