Bhubaneswar: The swimming pool complex at the Kalinga stadium has been renovated. The complex was demolished last year to accommodate additional gallery for the upcoming Hockey World Cup, scheduled later this year.
The complex will be open for public from this summer holidays. R Vineel Krishna, Director, Sports Services announced the news on twitter while sharing the images.
“Kalinga stadium Swimming pool has been renovated within a recird period and will be opening in time for the summer holidays. Compliments to @idco_odisha for speedy execution,” he tweeted.
The swimming pool complex was demolished last year, as a part of preparations ahead of the international hockey tournament. The demolition had led to widespread protests from young swimmers and their families.
