Bhubaneswar: Actor-politician Kamal Haasan is scheduled to visit Odisha on November 18 and 19 to attend a programme at Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) here.
According to sources, he will unveil the Butterfly Park at the varsity.
Haasan will also be awarded CUTM’s first-ever Honorary Doctorate. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, who will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest, with confer it on him. The event is on Tuesday.
Haasan is setting up a mega skill campus in his village for which he has signed MoU with CUTM to operate it.
Over 200 deaf and mute children will also spend time with the actor of silent movie ‘Puspak’.
The Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder-president will be treated as a state guest during his stay here.
Haasan may meet Naveen during his two-day visit, the sources added.
The MNM leader had met the BJD veteran on the sidelines of an investment roadshow in Chennai last year to “appreciate him as a fan” and also seek his “advice.”
He had also lauded Naveen for delivering good governance.
