Kandhamal Mega Job Fair: 13,500 Odisha Youths Recruited In A Single Day

Phulbani: Around 13,500 youths received job offers during the Mega Job Fair 2024 held at Kandhamal Stadium here on January 21.

Odisha-based companies recruited 3,500 youths, while 10,000 job aspirants were selected by firms from other states.

The job fair for the youth was organised by Kandhamal MP Dr Achyuta Samanta, with the support of KIIT, in association with the district administration.

More than 20,000 from Kandhamal parliamentary constituency – 12 blocks of Kandhamal, 3 of Boudh and Nayagarh, and 2 blocks of Ganjam district — participated in the fair.

Around 40 companies from Odisha and over 80 firms and industrial houses from other states participated in the job fair. Salaries offered ranged from Rs 12,000 to Rs 35,000.

The candidates were from class 5 to postgraduates, B.Tech, MBA and Law graduates.

“Bringing 120 companies to one of Odisha’s smallest cities, ensuring hospitality and logistics, and managing influx of 20,000 youths with transport and food arrangements were enormous tasks, all made possible by the incredible support of Kandhamal district administration and KIIT’s unyielding efforts,” said Dr Samanta.
