Mumbai: Actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut never misses an opportunity to call out star kids and nepotism in the film industry. But on Tuesday, she targeted the media.
Coming out of the Balyogi Auditorium in Delhi’s Parliament Library Building after watching Vikrant Massey starrer ‘The Sabarmati Report’, Kangana took a dig at paparazzi for not watching the film. She even mocked at media personnel for watching worthless films.
When asked how was the film, Kangana said, “Aap logon ne dekhi nahi abhi bhi? Bahut achhi lagi (You guys haven’t watched it yet? I liked it very much).”
“Aur sab jaake dekhiye. Aise bakwas filmein dekhte hain, achhi filmein bhi dekh lo for a change (And you all should go and watch. You watch these nonsense films, watch good films for a change),” she added.
Shutterbug Viral Bhayani took to his Instagram handle and shared a video of the actress praising Vikrant’s ‘The Sabarmati Report.’
Sharing her views on the film, Kangana told ANI, “It is a very important film… It is our country’s history and the previous government hid facts from the people. The film shows how people played politics in such a grave situation back then.”
Praising the film, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on X, “Well said. It is good that this truth is coming out, and that too in a way common people can see it. A fake narrative can persist only for a limited period of time. Eventually, the facts will always come out!”
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, ‘The Sabarmati Report’ is based on the burning of the Sabarmati Express near Godhra station in Gujarat in 2002.
Nearly 59 Hindu devotees returning from Ayodhya were charred to death in this train tragedy. The incident had triggered riots in Gujarat that year.
