Mumbai: Months after announcing a film under her banner, actress Kangana Ranaut made it official that she will be directing ‘Aparajitha Ayodhya’, based on the Ram Mandir dispute and Ayodhya verdict.
The film is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad of Bahubali fame.
“The plan wasn’t for me to direct the film,” Kangana was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times. “It started as a project that I worked on from the concept level. I wanted to produce it and rope in a director. I was quite busy at that time to even think of direction.
“However, the script that Vijayendra Prasad shared was that of a film set on a large canvas, somewhat on the lines of the historical (Manikarnika) that I directed earlier. My collaborating partners were also keen that I direct this one. Eventually, even I felt that maybe it’s best if I helm this film. So, it all happened organically,” said the producer-director.
