Hyderabad: On Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Telugu talk show ‘Unstoppable with NBK’, ‘Kanguva’ actor Suriya opened up on several matters, but remained tight-lipped when asked about his first crush.
However, Suriya’s brother Karthi spilled the beans about the actor’s childhood crush on national television, leaving him dumbfounded.
“I am a late bloomer sir. To understand crush and everything, it took time,” Suriya told the host.
After a candid one-on-one with Suriya, host Balakrishna rang up the actor’s brother to check if his guest was giving honest answers or not, and asked Karthi about the actor’s first crush.
“He likes one actress a lot. There’s a song called Chikubuku Raile,” Karthi revealed.
When the host asked whether it was Gautami, Karthi replied in the affirmative.
A shy Suriya quipped in Telugu, “Karthi, nuvvu katthi ra, Karthi kadu. (Karthi, you’re dangerous like a knife).”
The song ‘Chikubuku Raile’ is from Shankar’s 1993 film ‘Gentleman’, featuring Gautami and Prabhu Deva.
Suriya will next be seen in Siva’s ‘Kanguva’, which also stars Bobby Deol and Disha Patani in pivotal roles. The film is slated to hit theatres on November 14.
Suriya’s brother Karthi was last seen in ‘Meiyazhagan’, which featured Arvind Swami.
