Mumbai: Karan Johar, who turned 52 on Saturday, presented a special ‘gift’ to his fans and followers on his special day.
The director-producer took to social media to announce his next film.
Johar posted an image of him on Instagram, posing with a bound script with ‘Untitled Narration Draft’ written on the cover along with his name as director and today’s date.
“Get… Set…. Go! ❤️” he wrote alongside.
There were no more details such as the film’s title or the cast. But it appears that Karan has locked the script.
There was speculation whether this one will be his first action film that he had promised on his 50th birthday two years ago.
He was supposed to start working on the action film after the release of ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ – his last directorial venture, after a gap of 7 years – but there was no update.
His latest announcement has been welcomed enthusiastically by industry friends as well as his followers.
The likes of Zoya Akhtar, Neha Dhupia, Maheep Kapoor, of ‘Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ fame, Ayesha Shroff and Guneet Monga wished him on happy birthday and expressed their excitement.
Some fans urged Karan to cast Shah Rukh Khan in his next movie.
“One more with srk please!!”
“Happy birthday Karan. One more #SRkajol @iamsrk @kajol please,” was another fan’s wish.
