Mumbai: Rumours were rife that after Amitabh Bachchan, Bollywood bigwig Karan Johar has also invested in the online food ordering and delivering company Swiggy.
However, the filmmaker denied making any such investment and released an official statement for the same.
“Certain sections of the media are falsely reporting that Mr Karan Johar has invested in Swiggy, the online food delivery service. These reports are untrue. Mr Johar has not invested in Swiggy,” stated the spokesperson of Dharma Productions.
Founded in 2014, the online food and grocery delivering company Swiggy had received clearance from SEBI for its Initial Public Offering (IPO).
Earlier in August, the Economic Times reported that Amitabh Bachchan’s family office had purchased some shares from Swiggy.
Reports also claimed that Madhuri Dixit Nene has also bought Swiggy shares worth Rs 3 crore.
