Mumbai: Dharma Productions new social media post has left netizens speculating about a sequel to the 2013 Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.’
On Monday, Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions shared a scene from the 2013 hit film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ on its official Instagram handle and captioned it as, “Humein inse pyaar ho jaayega…phir se! #StayTuned.”
This left fans speculating if the sequel is in the making or the film will be re-releasing.
Reacting to the post, one user wrote, “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani 2.0?”
Another commented, “Is it YJHD 2 or Re-release?”
Another user wrote, “very excited for the sequel, but please don’t spoil it.”
Another commented, “Why am I assuming YJHD 2 (crossed fingers and crying emojis)?”
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ is a rom-com starring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur in key roles.
The film was a major box-office success and had crossed Rs 300 crore mark worldwide.
Earlier, during an interaction with fans, Ranbir Kapoor had said, “I think Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani would make a good sequel… Ayan also had a very nice story, I remember, but then he went into this Brahmastra journey. But, never say never. He might make it after a couple of years. I think the story will be 10 years forward where Bunny, Naina, Avi and Aditi, where they are in their lives. I think it’ll be quite interesting and nice to explore those characters.”
