Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in home isolation.
“I have tested positive for COVID -19 today with mild symptoms. My health is fine, I am under home quarantine. I request everyone who have recently come in my contact to isolate themselves and get tested,” the CM tweeted informing about the development.
On Monday, Karnataka logged 11,698 fresh cases of coronavirus and four deaths in the last 24 hours, stated reports.
The number of active cases in the state stands at 60,148 and the daily positivity rate is 7.77 per cent. A total of 1,148 people were discharged during the day, taking the total tally to 29,65, 105.
Karnataka Health Minister Dr Sudhakar K said Bengaluru reported 146 new cases of Omicron cases on Monday, taking the total tally in the state to 479.
