Bengaluru: Hours after pitching for the Karnataka CM’s chair by saying that he’s a ‘single-man majority’, DK Shivakumar seems to have thrown in the towel.
The state party chief who was preparing to leave for Delhi in the evening, suddenly cancelled his visit to the national Capital citing health reasons.
In an interview with NDTV, Shivakumar wished Siddaramaiah all the best if he had the numbers.
The veteran Sidda, a former CM and deputy CM, travelled to Delhi this afternoon and will be meeting the top central leaders.
Shivakumar, who turned 61 today, denied that he won’t be revolting against the party if he wasn’t made CM.
“I do not rebel, do not do blackmail… I am not a child. I have my vision, loyalty,” he told NDTV.
He went on to say that the high command should have the courtesy to ‘acknowledge who is behind the win.’
“Sonia Gandhi told me, ‘I have confidence in you that you will deliver Karnataka’. I am sitting here, doing my regular responsibility. You should have the basic courtesy, a bit of gratitude. They should have the courtesy to acknowledge who is behind the win,” DKS said.
