Bengaluru: The Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department will introduce a special policy dedicated to women’s health. This was announced by the state’s health minister U T Khader.
The policy has been named as ‘Ruthutaare’. It is being pitted as the first-of-its-kind in the country. It will primarily focus on menopause-related issues.
“Karnataka government plans to introduce a special health policy for women at the earliest. We have a health policy, not only in the state but across the country there is no separate women health policy,” Khader said, according to reports.
Women face lot of mental and health issues during menopause. The initiative is to help them manage their lifestyle during this phase of life.
Actress and former MP Ramya has been appointed as the brand ambassador of the initiative to generate awareness among people.
