Bangalore: Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly beheading his wife following a quarrel and then chopping her body into pieces in Karnataka’s Tumakuru district.
The incident took place on Monday night at Hospet village of the district.
According to police sources, the accused, Shivaram, worked as a helper at a sawmill and lived with his wife Pushpa (32) and their eight-year-old child in a rented house. On Monday night, the couple had an argument following which Shivaram allegedly beheaded Pushpa and cut her into pieces in the kitchen.
Police during preliminary investigation found that the couple quarreled frequently, NDTV reported quoting police sources.
Pushpa was from Sagara town in Karnataka’s Shivamogga district.
