Kartik Aryan Dropped From ‘Dostana 2’, Find Out Why?

Mumbai: Kartik Aryan, who was to play the lead in Karan Johar’s Dostana 2 in 2018, has been dropped from the film. It is still not known who has replaced him in the film. It seems Kartik did not have dates for the film. The sequel to the 2008 hit, starring Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan, is being helmed by Collin D’Cunha and features Janhvi Kapoor as the leading lady. The film will also mark the Bollywood debut of television actor Lakshya.

News18 quoted sources close to Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions as confirming that after having shot for 20 days, Kartik Aaryan didn’t give further dates to the film, citing a packed calendar.

But grapevine has it that Kartik wasn’t too happy with the script. Besides, he had creative differences with the director. This hasn’t gone down too well with Dharma’s head Karan Johar and his team, said media reports.

Kartik and Janhvi began shooting for Dostana 2 in November 2019 in Amritsar.
