Phulbani: The temperature plummeted across Kandhamal district with Daringbadi, which is known as the Kashmir of Odisha, experiencing fresh snowflakes on Sunday.
Life was affected as residents shivered in nail-biting cold across the district with a layer of snowflakes being found at several places like Daringbadi, Kandapa, Simanbadi, Kilabadi, Ladapanka, Greenbadi, Dasiketa and Pliheri.
While local people preferred to stay indoors, tourists flocked to Daringbadi to enjoy the snowflakes.

According to the Bhubaneswar Met Office, cloudy weather had been prevailing over Kandhamal district for the past few days. This led to an increase in night temperature. However, with the weather clearing, temperature has started dropping in the region once again.
