New Delhi: A Delhi court on Tuesday extended the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and BRS leader K Kavitha till May 7, in the Delhi excise policy case.

They were produced before the court through video conference as their remand period expired. The special judge for CBI and ED matters Kaveri Baweja, extended their custody.

Kejriwal, who had moved the court last week asking for insulin injections, was administered a low dose of insulin for the first time after his arrest on March 21, jail authorities informed media on Tuesday.

Kejriwal has Type 2 diabetes and his blood sugar level has spiked to 320 mg/dl, according to reports.

On Monday, the court had directed a panel of specialists from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to assess the CM’ s condition and administer insulin if needed.

Earlier in the day, his wife Sunita, on her way back from the the Prachin Hanuman Mandir, said she will come back soon with the AAP supremo. “I will come back with Sir soon,” she told PTI.
