Kendrapara Town Police Take Gangster Tito On Two-Day Remand

Kendrapara: Kendrapara Town police on Wednesday took gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito on remand for two more days.

According to police sources, the gangster is likely to interrogated in connection with the abduction of contractor Siba Parida.

The contractor was allegedly kidnapped by a group of three motorcycle-borne miscreants from his office at Kajala village of Kendrapara district in September last year.

He, however, was released unharmed the same day.

Earlier on Saturday, Kendrapara Town police had taken him on two-day remand in connection with the murder of engineer Debashish Sahoo at Chakada village in Kendrapara district on December 21 last year.

Tito had allegedly gunned down the engineer after he refused to pay him an extortion amount of Rs 10 lakh.

On Tuesday, Marshaghai police had taken the gangster on a  day remand to interrogate in connection with the murder of one Rajesh Behera in 2015.

The Kendrapara SDJM court had allowed the police to take him on remand for interrogation in connection with two murder cases.

Meanwhile, The SDJM court, Cuttack, on Wednesday allowed the plea to make the gangster a party in the tender fixing and extortion cases registered against him by Chauliaganj Police in March 2016.
