Keonjhar: Peeved over unscheduled power cuts in Keonjhar town, locals on Thursday gheraoed the office of North Eastern Electricity Supply Company of Odisha Limited (NESCO) office.
Tension escalated when some of agitators scuffled with the electrical employees and put a garland of shoes on NESCO sub-divisional officer Maheswar Sethy. They released the official after getting a written assurance from him on immediately fulfilling their demand.
“The unscheduled power cuts for the past few days have made our life miserable. Even after repeated appeals, no steps have been initiated to address the issue,” said an agitator.
