Though he had faced defeat in 2019 polls, he captured his home turf of Patnagarh Assembly seat in 2024 despite a stiff challenge from BJD’s Saroj Meher. A prominent figure in the state’s political landscape, Singh Deo played a key role in strengthening BJP’s base in the state as he served as the party’s state president from 2013 to 2016.
