KG Student From Agra Alleges Torture By Class-II Schoolmate

Agra: A video of a 6-year-old boy, alleging brutal torture by one of his schoolmates, has taken social media by storm. The accused boy is an eight-year-old Class-II student. The video was recorded by the parents of the KG student who allegedly faced the abuse. The family has also lodged a police complaint.

The video shows a child saying that his ‘senior’ spat on his shoes, made him pick them up and lick them. He also alleges that the Class-II student slapped him 30 times in the school bus, in front of other students. While in school, the Class-II boy allegedly confined him in a washroom and even threatened to strangle him.

According to the child’s mother, her son was unwell for over a month. His condition didn’t improve though 3-4 doctors were consulted. The parents started suspecting that something was wrong at school when the boy started mumbling in his sleep. He would say: “He will beat me.”

“When he refused to go to school on March 4, I asked him to come clean. Finally, he told us the horrifying story. We recorded his statement as evidence, before reporting the matter to the school authorities,” the child’s mother said. He is apparently suffering from anxiety-induced fever.

The headmistress of the reputed school in Dayalbagh, Agra, said that she has started taking necessary action. The attendant of the bus, in which both students travelled, has already been suspended. CCTV footage from the bus is also being scanned. The accused student has been asked not to attend school for the time being. Both sides have also been called for a meeting.

A police official confirmed that a complaint was received on March 5. “This is a sensitive matter involving extremely young children and we are proceeding accordingly,” he said.

Parents of the accused student, however, claimed that the matter is being blown out of proportion. “Our son also attends tuition classes, plays badminton and learns music. There has not been a single complaint against him. It is possible that there was some minor altercation between the two children. It is being blown out of proportion,” the boy’s father said.
