Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and Chancellor of state universities S C Jamir approved the appointment vice-chancellors (VCs) of two varsities on Thursday.
Prof Atanu Kumar Pati has been appointed as the new VC of Khalikote University (Berhampur), while Amarendra Narayan Mishra has been given the charge of Gangadhar Meher University in Sambalpur.
Established in 1944 as Sambalpur College, Gangadhar Meher University was accredited ‘A’ by NAAC in May 2015 by the UGC team. The university offers undergraduate, post graduate, master of philosophy and self-financing courses to the students.
Similarly, Khalikote University, a co-educational NAAC-A state university, was founded as a school in 1856. The institution got the university tag in 2015.
