Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday extended the deadline for registration of farmers for Kharif paddy procurement to September 17.
“Though the last date was Tuesday, the government decided to extend it further since more farmers were keen to register with the government,” said Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain.
The state has around 10 lakh registered farmers, he added.
