Bhubaneswar: Sambalpur University did Odisha proud by clinching gold in women’s hockey at the Khelo India University Games.
Led by midfielder Sujata Kujur, Sambalpur University’s women edged out ITM University, Gwalior, in a thrilling final.
After the teams were tied 1-1 in regulation time, Sambalpur University girls triumphed 5-3 in the penalty shootout.
“It’s an incredible feeling to emerge champions. Our team displayed a seamless blend of unity, unwavering dedication, and the essential combination of skills,” said the 20-year-old Sujata.
