Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 toll in Odisha climbed to 6,887on Sunday with 64 more deaths reported in the past 24 hours.
The list of daily fatalities includes past deaths for which an audit was done and the cause identified as COVID, the Health Department said.
In August, Odisha has so far seen 985 deaths due to the disease.
While May reported 660 deaths, the number swelled to 1,272 in June and it rose further to 1,884 in July.
Among the new casualties, Khurda district saw the highest of 16 (4 from Bhubaneswar) deaths, 13 were reported from Nayagarh, 12 from Cuttack, 5 from Sambalpur, 4 from Sonepur, 2 from Puri and 1 each from Balasore, Balangir, Bargarh, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Gajapati, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh.
The deceased were identified as:
1.A 44 years old male of Balasore District.
2.A 43 years old female of Balangir District.
3.A 46 years old female of Baragarh District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Hypothyroidsim.
4.A 75 years old male of Boudh District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease & Diabetes Mellitus.
5.A 75 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Acute Kidney Injury.
6.A 83 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease & Diabetes Mellitus.
7.A 75 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
8.A 83 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease & Diabetes Mellitus.
9.A 43 years old female of Cuttack District.
10.A 78 years old female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
11.A 78 years old female of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Coronary Artery Disease & Hypertension.
12.A 45 years old male of Cuttack District who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
