Amid the global market slowdown, South Korean carmaker has reportedly sold 6,200 units of its Seltos SUV in August.
Kia, Hyundai’s sister company, launched Seltos SUV on August 22. It has priced the SUV competitively starting at Rs 9.69 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 15.99 lakh.
The SUV had received 35,000 bookings during the launch. Interestingly, 20 per cent of the bookings were made online. Currently, it has a waiting period ranging from 1 to 3 months depending on the variant.
The Seltos comes in 3 engine options – 1.5 petrol, 1.5 diesel and 1.4 turbo-petrol. It is available in manual, CVT and dual-clutch automatic gearbox options.
Kia’s plant at Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, is making the Seltos. The plant has a capacity of 3 lakh units per annum.
MG Motor India, which recently launched the Hector SUV, has sold 3,526 units in August.
