KIIT Webinar: NEP Reflects Aspirations Of People, Says Union Education Minister

Bhubaneswar: The New Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a student-centric policy and reflects dreams and aspirations of the people as it has been framed following wide-ranging consultations, said Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’.
Inaugurating an international webinar on the NEP 2020, organised by KIIT Deemed to be University recently, the minister said, “The provisions for early childhood education, emphasis on mother-tongue based early childhood education, focus on skills, credit bank and multiple entry and exits are some of the important student-centric features of the NEP 2020.
Terming NEP 2020 as a “game changing policy”, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE suggested a single data system for institutions for regulatory reporting and accreditations.
Throwing light on vision of the new policy, Prof. DP Singh, Chairman, UGC said, “The policy will promote integrated inclusive research solutions to human problems.” The NEP will enable the country to reap the demographic dividend and achieve SDG 2030 goals, said Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog.
Prof. Ved Praksh, Chancellor, KIIT DU; Dr. Pankaj Mittal, Secretary-General, AIU; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. T. V. Kattimani, who was a part of the drafting committee of NEP 2020; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU and eminent litterateur Haraprasad Das also spoke on the occasion.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS also spoke at the concluding day of the three day webinar which was attended by 30,000 students, vice-chancellors, policymakers and intellectuals from 50 countries.

 

The KIIT also organised a two-day “Mega Digital HR Conclave” from August 28 and 29 on the theme ‘The Future is Now – Rewiring the Workplace’. Inaugurating the conclave, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS said a lot of change has happened in the economy because of the pandemic and rewiring the workplace will bring in positivity in the tough times.

The conclave saw participation of 200 corporate personalities from 17 countries. Among others, Scott Friedman, author of “Celebrate! Lessons Learned from World’s Most Admired Organizations”; Manoj Kohli, Country Head, SoftBank India and Dr. Sanjay Muthal, CEO, Kontempore were present on the occasion.
