Bhubaneswar: Head of Department of Endocrinology at Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) in Bhubaneswar, Dr Sambit Das, has been nominated as Executive Council Member of the South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies (SAFES).
“Dr Das is one of three distinguished endocrinologists from India nominated to the pretigious position, representing India on this prominent regional and global platform,” a KIMS release said.
SAFES is is a regional organisation formed on January 17, 2013, and comprises endocrine societies of many Asian countries, including India. The federation is committed to collaborative research, advancing patient care, developing regional clinical guidelines, and addressing the unique challenges of endocrine disorders in the South Asian region.
Founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS Dr Achyuta Samanta has congratulated Dr Das for his nomination to the prestigious body.
An alumnus of the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr Das also serves as the National Vice President of the Endocrine Society of India, and holds key positions in the state chapters of RSSDI and AIAARO. He is a member of the national task force of ESI for formulating guidelines on the management of obesity.
Recently, he received “Endocrine luminary clinical and academic excellence” from Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on the eve of Doctors’ Day.
